  • Bombing of Darwin - 75th Anniversary

    On 19 February 1942, World War 2 was brought to the shores of Australia when the Japanese dropped bombs over Darwin. More than 250 Japanese planes flew over and attacked Darwin making it their largest air attack since Pearl Harbour. The town was only lightly defended as the Japanese inflicted heavy losses upon the Allied forces at little cost to themselves.
