The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is located at the very top end of the Kuranda Village.

The paths through the butterfly house and gardens are concrete. In places, the surface is a little uneven and there is a short steeper section at the entrance from the ticket office/gift shop. There is a small area beyond the bridge, at the rear of the butterfly house that has a set of steps requiring people to retrace their path back over the bridge. There is a small “fairy” room that is accessed by a short wooden ramp that is suitable for child wheelchair users. The butterfly wings picture “booth” can be accessed by wheelchair users.

The internal static displays are well laid out, easy to navigate and can be easily viewed by wheelchair users.
