Unfortunately, one block back from the CBD most of the shops have the legacy of a tropical environment design with a major step in front of them. Some options do exist.
The major nightlife venue of the city is The Jack on the corner of Sheridan and Spence Street. It is a major hotel with life band venue. Access to the main bar is via a ramp in Spence Street and the entertainment venue via a level entry off Spence Street. Inside there is good manoeuvring room and a wide range of seating options.
