Uluru and Kata Tjuta

The Red Centre is the very heart of Australia and home to the enormous and spectacular Monoliths of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The two monoliths are only 30 kilometres from each and serviced by the resort village of Yulara.

At 348 metres high and 9.4 kilometres in circumference, Uluru is the largest sandstone monolith in the world, while Kata Tjuta is made up of 36 giant domes spread over more than 20 kilometres. To the Anangu people, who have lived in the region for over 22,000 years, the sites are deeply spiritual and sacred. Today Uluru is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
